What Is Shinty?
Primary School Shinty World Cup
The Caman Man - by Gary Innes
Membership fees are payable every month, year round, via SPOND, within the first 5 days of every month.
Primary School aged player membership fees are currently just £13 per month. Membership fees contribute towards Camanachd Association membership, insurance, training, and equipment.
We believe this is outstanding value.
We adopt safe approaches to training key skills and we ask all players to purchase and wear shinguards to every session.
In addition, we positively encourage sportsmanship and teamwork among our players, and we maintain a club code of conduct.
Played with the correct equipment, shinty is an extremely safe team sport for all ages and abilities.
Our club loans both a Helmet and Caman to all members, indefinitely, as this really affords individuals from all backgrounds the opportunity to truly fall in love with our ancient national sport.
Once players are settled into our club and are confidently enjoining their Shinty, encourage them to purchase their own customised colourful helmets and return loaned equipment back to us - this then allows our loaned club equipment to be passed on and helps us to further grow our club, and our sport across East Lothian.
Helmets and Sticks loaned from our club remain the property of our club and must be returned to us, any damaged or defaced equipment must be replaced by parents.
We’re thrilled to announce that Mead Camans will be our new main sponsor from 2024!
Their dedication to crafting top-quality shinty camans aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence on the field - Here’s to a fantastic partnership ahead!
